Dirac Sea Effects on Superfluidity in Nuclear Matter

چکیده

We study two kinds of Dirac sea effects on the S0 pairing gap in nuclear matter based on the relativistic Hartree approximation to quantum hadrodynamics and the Gor’kov formalism. We show that the vacuum fluctuation effect on the nucleon effective mass is more important than the direct coupling between the Fermi sea and the Dirac sea due to the pairing interaction. The effects of the high-momentum cutoff are also discussed. Typeset using REVTEX Electronic address: [email protected]

Dirac sea effects in K + scattering from nuclei

The ratio R T of K + − 12 C to K + − d cross sections has been calculated microscopically using a boson-exchange KN amplitude in which the σ and ω mesons are dressed by the modifications of the Dirac sea in nuclear matter. In spite of the fact that this dressing leads to a scaling of the mesons effective mass in nuclear matter, the effect on the R T ratio is found to be weak.

Proton and Neutron Superfluidity in Asymmetric Nuclear Matter

We investigate the 1S0 neutron and proton superfluidity in isospin asymmetric nuclear matter. We have concentrated on the isospin dependence of the pairing gaps and the effect of a microscopic three-body force. It is found that as the isospin asymmetry goes higher, the neutron 1S0 superfluid phase shrinks gradually to a smaller density domain, while the proton one extends rapidly to a much wide...

Liquid-gas instability and superfluidity in nuclear matter

Abstract We study effects of the medium polarization on superfluidity in symmetric nuclear matter in a relativistic formalism. An effect of the liquid-gas instability is emphasized. We examine two types of decomposition of the nucleon propagator; the standard Feynman-density and the particle-holeantiparticle ones. In both cases, the medium polarization effect is determined by a characteristic c...

Superfluidity with dressed nucleons

The gap equation with dressed propagators is solved in symmetric nuclear matter. Nucleon self-energies are obtained within the self-consistent in medium T matrix approximation. The off-shell gap equation is compared to an effective quasiparticle gap equation with reduced interaction. At normal density, we find a reduction of the superfluid gap from 6.5MeV to 0.45MeV when self-energy effects are...
